The presser is still going, and it’s making me extremely sad. Today alone (and all I’ve heard myself) were 2 very important mistakes. “President Putin” for Zelinski and “Vice President Trump” for Harris is not a good look for the POTUS. Trivial? Not when you add them in to the recent gaffs bucket.
I am concerned that the recurrent theme is Biden constantly going over the past. He’s had a damn good record as President, but for all that’s good and holy, he really needs to step down. For the sake of our country. Literally.
Biden is constantly on the defensive now. Don’t really blame him, but his demeanor is textbook for the aging process. I hate it like the plaque but as a retired RN who has experience with the geriatric community (other than my own geriatric status) I can honestly and truthfully say that Biden is not doing well. Not. At. All. The simple fact that he cannot see how he is in decline is yet another textbook symptom. God, I hate this. He’s a good man, done many great things in his long career, and does not deserve this display of disaster.
Is Jill Biden not being up front with him? I rather find that impossible. If she is being truthful to him, it would be yet another symptom of the aging decline. Someone needs to stop the misery straight away.
The presser is still going. This is deeply painful to watch. He keeps saying he doesn’t want to sound self-serving, but that’s exactly what he’s doing. Where’s the plans for the future? Other than winning over Trump, I haven’t heard anything but “There’s still work to do”. If any president of any country reached a point of no more work to do, then they’d be a bigger liar than Trump.
Now he’s yelling and talking about things of the past again, not related to the question. The longer this presser goes the more confused and upset he is getting.
Look, I’m just an old woman who is extremely concerned about the immanent state of our country. Not years from now or some long range planning - but literally in 4 months. Dems will not win with Biden as their candidate.
Maybe Biden wanted to stay as the presumptive candidate at least through the 75th NATO Summit. That would be a fabulous ending to a long & impressive career.
If Biden doesn’t gracefully step down, it will tarnish his accomplishments. And that would be extremely sad. I can see the history books now: “President Joe Biden was an esteemed and highly accomplished politician. His work was severely negated when he refused to step down once he began to mentally and physically decline, allowing Donald Trump to win the race again, and use the position to destroy the country.”
Oh wait …. there won’t be any history books.
Time is rapidly running out. Please, President Biden, do yet another great thing and let someone else beat Trump.
